Payroll Specialist

Our client, a growing company with a national presence, has an immediate need for a Payroll Specialist. Ideally, we are looking for Payroll Professionals who would be able to commit to a six month assignment that has the possibility of turning into a permanent position.

Salary: $14-$19 DOE

The ideal candidate will be committed, dedicated, flexible, and hardworking.  This person will have excellent problem solving and interpersonal relationship skills, as well as experience in the following areas:

  • Understanding of ADP (not mandatory, but strongly preferred)
  • Processing and execution of semi-monthly payroll
  • Creation of commission statements
  • Proven ability to reconcile payroll prior to transmission

 

Candidates who have experience calculating bonuses, researching payroll issues, and exercising compliance of payroll standards would be a strong fit for this position.  This is an exciting opportunity at a company that employs over 1,000 individuals across the county.

2012-02-03:

Payroll Specialist 45-55K

  • Process multi-state payroll by collecting time data from payroll system, uploading payroll data files, and conducting a pre check review of the payroll file prior to finalizing payroll for the pay period.
  • Manage and maintain appropriate reporting of all payroll and tax related information. Distribute reporting to appropriate management as determined.
  • Serves as a liaison for employees who require payroll-related assistance.
  • Process out of sequence payroll runs, off cycle manual checks, voids/reissues as needed.
  • Process employee data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, etc.
  • Complete all garnishment/tax lien requests received and ensure payroll is properly adjusted for these withholdings.
  • Must have experience processing payroll for at least 600 employees
  • UltiPro Software experience a big plus

JOB TITLE: Payroll Clerk

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   The payroll clerk is accountable for reviewing timekeeping information, calculating earnings and overtime pay, incorporating a variety of deductions (including multi-state tax withholdings) into each payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees.  The payroll clerk will maintain payroll records relating to benefit deductions including PTO, Health Savings Accounts, 401k contributions, etc. and will assist in allocating payroll costs to appropriate projects/departments as well as generate periodic payroll reports.

Qualification/requirement:

• Strong knowledge of payroll process is essential

• Experience with outsourced payroll services a plus

• Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws is also a must

• Proficiency in Word and Excel.

• Clear written and verbal communications

• Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner

• Good time management skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Work well in a team environment

• Able to maintain confidential information

Experience/Training

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree is preferred.

• Payroll Software experience is a plus
